Vampire Knight Guilty 05 - Fangirly Summary

That was a POWERFUL episode, both in a good way and in a bad way. XD;;;

I can't believe I'm actually crying. XD;;; *is so terribly lame and Kaname obsessed*


As you all know by how much I spam the world with pics and ramblings on them all, my two ultimate OTPs are Kaname x Yuuki and Zero x Kaname.

So the first half of the episode made me an utterly happy fangirl (some changes I disliked and some I absolutely adored OMG AIDOU X KANAME *is shot*)....

...and then the second part of the episode punched me in the gut full force and laughed while I writhed in pain. XD;;;;



 

Ok, so I'm totally against character bashing and don't mean to hate Yuuki or anything, but I must vent for now.

YUUKI, YOU HEARTLESS @#%$$#&@!!!

My anger will fade away later if I see Yuuki being nice again, but for now I am SOOOOOO angry at her. XD;;; And at the anime people. XD;;; *lol*


It's not a huge change they made, because she was already rather cruel to him when he confessed his love in the manga (okay, I know she's freaking out with all the blood hallucinations and all but still) but... but... but...


SHE SLAPPED HIS HAND AWAY, FOR CRAP'S SAKE!! ;________________; *kicks Yuuki in the shins*

They also did a bit of the usual anime stuff of making Kaname seem darker than he really is. T_T
It hasn't been as bad in season 2 as in season 1 I think, but it bothered me IMMENSELY to see it done in this episode of all. T__T

The main instances were a small alteration of dialogue during the Zero x Kaname scene the chapter 30 scene, and a chunk of a scene cut off later: in the manga, before Yuuki decides to go see Kaname, she's thinking of the past, and of how she wants to go talk to him and have it all in the open, because she trusts him and knows he might be hiding something but wouldn't do so with bad intentions etc. (She remembers when she was a child and she had picked on on how sad he is inside, and he would force himself to put on a smile to reassure her, and she realized that he was forcing himself for her... THEY CUT THAT OFF IN THE ANIME!! ;_____; It was one of my favorite scenes!
So in the anime version, she just says that she knows he's hiding something, (which sounds kinda bad, even though she also said she didn't mind if he betrayed her....... all in all, it makes it sound darker than the positive note in the manga.)

I have to say, btw, I LOVE YOU ZERO, YOU ARE WONDERFUL~!

A little change they did was that Zero didn't go with Yuuki when she went to confront Kaname the second time. I was surprised at first, but the fact that he didn't feel he had to go with her when she was going to an alone meeting with Kaname was lovely, because it implies Zero knows Kaname won't hurt Yuuki; which is only normal since he drank Kaname's blood and knows his feelings. (Vampires can know each other's feelings through the blood, as they showed before.)

So, Zero has a better understanding of Kaname than Yuuki does!! XD XD *rotfl*
I find that endlessly fangirlable of Zero. XD<3 *still angry at Yuuki*

Zero did come in later though, because he was thinking of Kaname's feeling/the blood, and realized that Yuuki would 'go away' for sure, if he didn't do anything, so he panicked a bit and ran there, arriving right on time to see Kaname hugging Yuuki, and then tell him the line he tells in the manga about asking Zero not to look so worried, and that from now on he'll be protecting Yuuki by himself too. :)



I'm rambling completely out of order, so let me go back to the start. (Things might be a bit out of order due to my brain having exploded during the episode. XD)

The episode begins with Yuuki angsting, and seeing blood everywhere as the scenes go. There's also Ichiru's arrival at the school, and Yagari decides to leave to spy on the Hunter Society and figure out what they're up to.

There's one of the most fangirlable Cross & Yagari moments ever.
By the way, my love for Yagari has escalated to IMMENSE HEIGHTS because of the fish scene. "Bye bye~!♥ *waves fish*"
I LOVE YOU YAGARI SENSEI~ *rotflmao*
Cross was adorable too. "Don't leave me alooooone~~~!! *clings*" XDDDD *rotlf*

Yuuki goes to meet Kaname and there's "THE SCENE" 01. XD<3
The one where she gets spooked, accidentally attacks him with her staff, and then he hugs her and tells her of his love. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The anime version already has Kaname looking a tidbit more menacing, I feel, but this might be subconscious because seeing something moving is always a bit different from seeing it static.... but I'm of the strong impression that in the manga scene he pulled the staff more gently.
In any case, he was sweet and gentle and held her in his arms in a lovely manner, as it's supposed to be.

The scene was a billion times more fangirlable in the manga, but it was still very enjoyable. I loved the moment where their faces were close and it looked almost like he was about to kiss her. *must fanart later* XD

After that, Zero arrives to find Yuuki alone, like in the manga, and she's feeling down because she was unable to ask Kaname what she wanted.

Zero almost touched her shoulder to comfort her, but pulled back at the last second, and just spoke.
(I got the impression it was because he smelled Kaname's scent on her.... Maybe he didn't feel like he had the right to touch or something. This might be a completely subjective impression. XD I'll have to rewatch when my brain is not dancing like crazy in a pink tutu of fangirly happiness. XD XD *rotfl*)

It's funny (or sad, maybe XD;;) because this is supposed to be a huge Kaname x Yuuki episode, but the way it all went... made me fangirl Zero instead of Yuuki. XD;;; (And Kaname of course, but when do I ever not fangirl him? XD *rotfl*)
Kaname, oh Kaname, how I adore you. ;_; *pokes Yuuki, wishes she was nicer to Kaname*


After that, Zero went to the Moon Dorm to confront Kaname like in the manga, and we had THE GLORIOUS BATHROOM SCENE (the blood drinking scene happens against Kaname's bathtub, something I always found immensely fangirlable. XD XD<3)

Btw, I must point out that ever since episode 13 of season 1 I've been saying all this time that this scene would come, and that the other was visibly an added one rather than a replacement, and all. Most people thought it was a replacement, until the PV showed the fight scene from this episode.
I'M SO glad that my impression was indeed right, because I'd have been immensely shocked if they had cut that scene. XD XD *lol*

They did a few changes to it... mainly, the fact that in the manga, Kaname is angry and does the whole flinging Zero through wall and clawing him because earlier when he returned to the dorm he had seen the unhealed bitemarks on Yuuki's neck, and realized that Zero's approach to level E made him take a LOT more blood from her, by drinking so often that she didn't have time to heal. This greatly angered Kaname, who was then in a very sour mood when Zero arrived to confront him.
In the anime, it was different, and Kaname got angry because he smelled Yuuki's scent on Zero, and then clawed him. (In the chest rather than throat, in the anime. But at least they also showed like in the manga that the wounds instantly disappeared when he started drinking Kaname's blood, because it's so powerful.<33)
While this is possessively fangirlable in its own way, it does makes him seem more possessive than protective, and I was bothered by the change. I'd have liked that line as an added one, but disliked that they didn't keep the line from the manga about Yuuki's unhealed wounds.

But I exploded in fangirly UBER DELIGHT when Kaname told Zero "You can go and drink my blood again."

*DIES OF FANGIRLY DELIGHT* *revives, licks OTP*

This establishes as anime canon the idea that Kaname would voluntarily give his blood to Zero, not merely in an extreme situation only to save him from the imminent level E fall (in the manga, Zero would have turned that night if Kaname didn't give him his blood), but more often/in general, possibly to spare Yuuki having to do so.
This is an idea that is at the very core of VK fanfiction, so seeing it canon is like a dream come true. XD ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

So Zero drinks Kaname's blood ("THE SCENE" #02 for me XD *lol*) and it was sexy, although I wished it had lasted longer. *-* *must fanart later*

And then, here comes the very best added scene they've done in SO LONG.

When Zero jumps out of Kaname's window and runs for the garden, his clothes all trashed and covered in his blood and Kaname's blood (Kaname's blood is still even on his face)..........

.... Aidou finds him, and realizes.

And Aidou tells him "If it's you, maybe you can enter/penetrate the dark side of Kaname-sama...", realizing that Zero can get closer to Kaname than he himself could.


*FANGIRLY GLEE EXPLOSION* XDDDDDDDDD<333333333333333

Excuse me while I go look for the remains of my brain that exploded in delight, and get some blood transfusion for all my nosebleeding. XD XD *LOL*

Aidou of all people, admitting that Zero is closer to Kaname than he could ever be.......... Aidou of all people, telling Zero that he could go and enter that side of Kaname that blocks everybody else.... OH, THE UTTER DELIGHT~! XDXDXD

*ships Zero x Kaname and Aidou x Kaname even more rabidly after this scene*


These were the highlights of the episode, I'm afraid. :X It went downhill after that, so I'm really really glad that I'm also a yaoi fangirl, because as a Kaname x Yuuki fan the second part of the episode made me sad........ though the angst was also interesting in itself. (As in, once I've healed of the horror of seeing Yuuki slap Kaname's hand away, I might go write angsty Kaname fanfiction. XD;;; *lol*)

I mostly already described the scene earlier in this post, but yeah, Yuuki talks to Zero and then leaves to go see Kaname. They have "THE SCENE #03" talk (sorry, I number my favorite scenes in the manga XD;; *lol*)...

I hope the scene will seem less bad once I rewatch. Maybe it's just subconscious because it's the first watch and I was so shocked. :X
It's true that often things look rougher when there's movement than in manga format, but stilll... *bites the ankles of the anime people for having made Kaname cling to Yuuki's hand in a way that looked rougher than in the manga too*


A lot of it played just like in the manga, other than the fact the body language felt rougher on both sides.......... and also, in the manga she was a LOT more compliant in the end, as in, getting swept away, but not looking like she feared him or anything. In the anime, when he told her to become his girlfriend she looked almost like she was afraid of him. RAEP TIME NAO type of afraid. XD;;; *lol*

(Yes, btw, both in the anime AND manga the word he used in the orginal is perfectly innocent and doesn't implies sex at all, although I also like the sound of "lovers" much better, and it covers both meanings... XD
The word he used was "koibito" which could mean "girlfriend" or "lover" but it's a perfectly normal word that doesn't implies he wants to do things to her right away or anything. XD He was gentlemanly.<3)

The hand slapping happens during the scene, when he tries to carress her head and she doesn't lets him so that she won't lose track of what she's trying to say. In the manga, when she almost lost track, it's Zero who interrupted to put her back in track as she had wanted... but in the anime, since Zero comes in later they made Yuuki slap Kaname's hand instead.

I'm still terribly shocked, but considering how much of a sadistic fangirl I am, this is also huge fodder for angst material. XD;;
(And I immensely fangirl the "dominating Yuuki" x "surrendering Kaname" situation, so inevitably I can at least look at the scene under a positive light for BDSM dominatrix Yuuki x slave Kaname angst fics and pics................... although I'm still so sad that she slapped his hand. ;_; )

So yeah, immediatly after watching I was so shocked I actually cried for Kaname's hurt feelings. XD;;; (considering how he is with Yuuki, it must have been so painful to have been slapped away by her like that. ;-;), but by now I'm calming down and looking at it under a more positive side even if I am still highly unsatisfied with that change.

At least the scene with Zero and Kaname and the Zero & Aidou talk were WONDERFUL. *___*/ *clings to them*
