Oops, Aidou is in trouble... XD XD Again. *lol*

It's not something that always happens, but they did it twice so far, once with volume 9 and more recently with volume 10... It's a special event of sorts in which the publisher of VK will have a limited time thing with a single large store in Japan, or sometimes a few stores of a same big chain in a particular area, and there will be a limited edition print of Hino-sensei's artwork drawn especially for that occasion, and which you can get while supplies last if you are buying the first press of the latest VK volume at that shop having the event.
They've done it twice, as a celebration/promotional event for the release of the latest volume.

Needless to say, it's VERY limited, and it finishes VERY fast, to the point where even in Japan, there are violent bid wars for those prints in auctions, and scalpers and all, because it's so limited that often by the time people hear of it and get to the shop that's doing it, it's gone...

I'm one such victim who got to be ripped nicely in auctions for having her beloved Kaname print, hahaha. XD;; (Back on volume 9, as I found out about it after they had sold out).

Even more so, because I managed to snag both the Kaname print, and the even more limited print with Aidou, Cain and Kaname in a bonus mini-manga follow up to the fanbook which Hino-sensei did for the limited edition prints. *ω*/

That print was only available in a single shop for a limited time, and disappeared super fast as everybody rushed for it, of course.

However, VK fans of the whole world can benefit from my compulsive VK obsession now... ;D *lol*

Because naturally, I just HAD to have every single one of those limited prints. *-*/// *VK love*

...And naturally, I scanned everything for you, and even scanlated in English the mini-manga. :3

This is naturally all happening only inside Aidou's imagination, while Kaname, safely in his chambers, sneezes wondering who is talking about him. XD XD hahaha~! XD
(It's a joke with a cliche scenario in manga, the line Kaname is saying. XD)

I was going to draw Kaname & Ichijou cooking with Aidou looking scared of the foods, but then I remembered the drama CD in which Aidou starts imagining Kaname in an apron, whipping cream and all.......... XD (actually, if memory serves me well that was actually in the VK radio)
So I couldn't resist the urge to fanart Aidou x Kaname in response. XD *lol*

Yeah, it looks like Zero, but way too happy to be Zero. XD It's Takuma x Kaname.

Takuma is in a teasing mood and feels Kaname has been working on those papers for the vampire council for FAR too long. XD
Kaname, on the other hand, just wishes his friend would stop teasing him and go look for Shiki instead, or something like that. XD *lol*

And some ramblings on yaoi fanfic ideas for them. X3

I find Takuma x Shiki adorable, but my yaoi attention span dies eventually when there's no Kaname uke, so I far prefer Takuma x Kaname, hahaha. XD;;

Although I ship them mostly as "friends with benefits", rather than as true lovers, since the way I like to ship it, Kaname belongs with Zero (Edit: and Yuuki 8D;; *momentarily forgot her* XD;;), and Takuma with Shiki & Rima. XD
(It's funny that both friends would end up in threesome relationships. 8D;)

I have this whole little background plot bunny thingie for such pictures, where Kaname was the love of Takuma's life, but the pureblood's love for Yuuki, and then later for Zero, made that he never noticed his best friend had more than just brotherly feelings for him... so for a while, there's angsty Takuma moments where the blond fakes that he's just playing around, when in truth he's putting up that happy face and teasing Kaname a lot and all just because it's the only way he has to do that stuff to him... (He doesn't wants to tell Kaname about his feelings because he's afraid that if Kaname knows he's actually in love with him, he'll behave differently, pushing him away due to not wanting to hurt his friends feelings by giving him fake hopes... while if the pureblood never knows Takuma is not just playing around, those fleeting moments cna go on a bit longer, at least until Kaname finally gets around to trying and getting closer to the ones he loves from afar...)

Eventually, they go to the academy, and Takuma is telling himself he must grow up already, and get out of his impossible unrequited love... That's when Shiki comes into his life, and Takuma does all he can to try and get over Kaname.

Ironically, he ends up having to choose in much more dramatic circumstances when Rido takes over Shiki, and Takuma is trying to protect him. D:
And then, there's the mess with Sara too. ^^;

It's not a fic I plan to write, it's more like random background ideas I have in mind when I draw some of those pics. :D
I think Takuma never quite gets over Kaname in it, but later on he is really in love for Shiki, and viewing Kaname more in a brotherly manner, kind of. At least, that along with bittersweet treasured feelings from the past. XD;


Of course, that's not how I view the canon VK. ^^;;//
Just thought I'd mention just in case. XD;; *lol*

In canon VK, the Takuma & Kaname relationship is of course just brotherly love between best friends. XD Something I fangirl a TON too. X3
*finds their relationship absolutely adorable, especially since it's something so precious and rare for Kaname, who really has no one else aside from in his quick visits to Yuuki, during all those dark years spend under Ichiou's power* :X

Although the idea of Takuma teasing Kaname in a yaoi manner is still irresistible even when I'm fangirling them as just best friends. XD XD;; *lol*
(After the way Takuma clung to Kaname hugging him in front of Aidou and all in volume 6, it's impossible to resist for yaoi fans, hahaha~ XD<3

I'm a huge fan of the main trio, and ideally would love to see them end up together (they're my OT3 X3), so it is particularly painful when I see people bashing either side. T_T

At least Zero is lucky, very few people bash him, but Kaname gets so much hatred online in the western fandom, and in such an unfair manner. :(
A lot of people spread misinformation about him and act as if he's some kind of evil being, and lots of the younger fans who didn't read all of the manga or who didn't read in depth and missed stuff, end up believing and spread more hate. :-/
I see so many people bashing saying things that make it obvious they didn't even understand the characters before hating them, which is such a pity. ^^;;

In truth, both Zero and Kaname are lovely, and we should just love whatever character we want and enjoy the series without bashing anyone, because bashing and flaming accomplishes nothing other than hurting the feelings of the fans of the character being constantly trashed. ^^/

Ah, and I had another pic to post, which I finished some days ago and had been meaning to post but ended up forgetting for a bit and then ended up not having much time as I scanlated VK51 and all that. :D

This one isn't yaoi, but there's some vague/partial nudity in it, so if that bug you, I guess you might want to avoid? ^^; (You can mostly just see bare parts of legs and arms though, because bandages cover everything.)

It's one of my best pics in a while though, so if you don't mind, do come on to see. X3

It's Kaname as the ancestor... though it's artistic-purpose nudity as a symbol of fragility etc., and not "sexy"-nudity.
Also, any parts needing covering are covered by bandages, so... It's up to you to skip or not. XD

The nudity is merely symbolic, for vulnerability/helplessness/fragility/etc., in this pic. ^^/

I know it costs money, but the books themselves and depending on where you live for shipping as well, but it's not much. D: Look at the price of a mere shirt in any shop, or of a sandwich etc, and you've quickly covered the price of a book.

And if you live in a place where it's a lot more expensive to import, there might be an official local release cheaper than importing, or maybe you can wait a bit and buy the books slower. :X

Also, please don't scan doujinshi, ;-; Every time someone steals a fanart or scan a doujin, a level E kills a kitten.
XD;; *lol* Not quite, but it hurts the fanartists feelings pretty badly, and sometimes it kills smaller doujin circles by making them leave the fandom etc. because they can't sell their stuff and feel robbed by people redistributing their stuff that way. :X

Doujinshi is not like manga, which is a true commercial product making lots of money etc.
Doujinshi is like fanart, and when the artist can pay for the printing costs, he/she's lucky. :X Especially in a fandom like VK with few doujinshi. :X

Already, with manga, which is a commercial product and all, you're not supposed to just read scans, you need to also buy the books to support the series, or it isn't right. ^^;;// (The scans I provide are merely a replacement for the magazine so that people in other countries can read the chapter while they wait for the books to be out.)

VK doujinshi is terribly rare as it is because so few people make it, so please don't sink the ship by scanning what little exists. ^^;;
Hunt for the doujinshis themselves on auctions and shops etc, and purchase them for your own for your collection (when you find them sold by decent people who don't charge obscene prices...), but please don't hurt the fanartists and the fandom by scanning doujinshi or downloading and distributing doujin scans. ^^//


VK is a lovely fandom, so I have the strong hope that by getting people to know about the issue, they'll understand and respect it. :D ♥ ♥ ♥

In China it came out today (it ships a bit earlier from Japan and then shops there put it for sale when it arrives instead of on the official release date, which causes it to be out there a bit earlier than in Japan etc. often), they already have LaLa, so I got to read the chapter in a Chinese forum.

Due to how often people stole from this site and other sites before, I must remind, PLEASE DON'T STEAL THEIR SCANS. D: D: Seriously. -__-;;

If you are a member there and can log in, do see the scans there if you feel like, or otherwise, please simply wait a little bit longer until I can get my LaLa and scan it for you to read. ^^//
Taking their scans and reuploading on your own is not right. People have stolen from various forums so often that now there's GIANT watermarks etc. because people want to avoid the scan theft, and as a result, it's hard to read.
The person who scanned it paid for her LaLa and put in the effort to scan. Stealing her stuff would be disrespectful and ungrateful. So please don't. :X

As for us:

I'll probably have LaLa tuesday or wednesday at most. (Release date is officially the 24th, but I might be able to get it on the 23rd.)

So it's almost here for you to read as well. ;)

Random. XD;

Neither of the two seems to mind. In fact, Kaname seems strangely fascinated. XD
Zero is probably the only one annoyed by the metamorphosis. 8D;
(And knowing how tsundere he is, he'll probably get all sulky if the two keep insisting that it's adorable and trying to pet his ears. XDD)


This pic came about because about a month ago or so, someone told me of people wondering whether Zero was albino or not because of the light colored hair. Of course he's not, but the mind image that automatically had came to my mind was...you know, those adorable albino bunnies, with white hair and red eyes? 8D;;; And how fluffy and cute they are?? *is violently shot* XD;;;

It's so unrelated to the original subject, but the idea of Zero with cute fluffy bunny ears wouldn't go away. XD;;

I meant to draw it waaay sooner, but I didn't have much time for a while and so only ended up drawing it so long later. XD;;


Speaking of crack plot bunnies..... the world would be fascinating if Haruka had stayed alive.
Because Rido specialized in metamorphosing his own body, but Haruka specialized in doing metamorphosis to others. (If you recall, he did it to one of Rido's minions to turn it into a monster controlled by him and send it back against Rido under his power.)

Can you imagine??

And because the Kurans are all weird in the head (XD in a lovely way... but really, remember Haruka & Juri cheering @ Kaname's masochistic revelation in the fanbook?), you can bet he'd have somehow sensed his daughter's yaoi streak and made it the otaku-friendly kitty & bunny years that are overly sensitive and all, so Yuuki would be petting them all the time, while poor Kaname and Zero twitch on the ground under the onslaught of sensation, all blushy etc.

Ahh, nothing like depraved plot bunnies to go with crack pics. XD;;;;;

My twitter account is a nice place to get the latest news. However, it's less cool if you grab the stuff and then repost elsewhere without saying/linking where you found it. ^^;;;

Because from what I was told, people are all wondering what that pic above is... And well, this wouldn't be happening, if whoever reposted it had done so giving a link to my twitter, where the pic was originally posted. >XD;;

Apparently, one (or more?) people took the pic off my twitter account and reposted it around without saying where they found it, so other people were all confused wondering what it even was.
(Please at least credit/link your sources if you repost a scan/etc. :X That avoids everybody being confused once they see unknown pics wandering around.)


As for what it is:
It's a recent pic Hino-sensei drew for a limited thing in only some shops in Japan.
I posted it on twitter some days ago, explaining about it.

It displays a peaceful scene with the trio, where Kaname, Yuuki and Zero are hanging out together at a cafe. Kaname got the drinks, hence the playful putting-drink-on-head stuff going on. :3 (Light years away from the usual angst from the story itself. XD *wishes the three would just get in a threesome and be all happy like that* X3 ♥)

I own one of those limited prints, and was planning to post a bigger version/proper scan when I can scan it etc. ^^/
So just some more patience until I can get to doing it, and you'll be able to see the whole thing in full size. :)
It was going to be a surprise, but people taking it off my twitter, reposting elsewhere without link and confusing everybody kind of ruined the novelty. :-/ Eh.



And btw, while I'm mentioning twitter: My main VK info etc. posts are always here on my LJ, where I can make long posts.
However, when I just have a quick moment or am taking a break between stuff or whatever and don't have time to make a full LJ post, I'll often post tidbits of info, wip pics, news updates etc. on my twitter.
Later, the more relevant stuff ends up showing up on my LJ as well, though not as fast as there.

So if you keep an eye on both, you have the info fastest, but if you don't mind waiting for the proper posts, LJ is the way to go. :)

Somewhere-there on FFnet has been writing an absolutely ADORABLE Zero x Kaname fic lately, "A Peculiarly Pureblood Problem". :D

It's Zero x Kaname, and it's absolutely adorable. X3

It's also M rated, so err, don't go read if you're underage. ^^;;; (It's not yet at the M rated part, although there were delicious mentions of things that were definitely M rated, so you don't want to click if you dislike yaoi or are underage. ^^;/

I've been reading the fic with delight lately, and since chapter 4 just came out, I thought I'd make a little post to recommend it~! :D

If you like Zero x Kaname, definitely go read it and leave a review. :D♥

(Plus yeah, bonus point for having Kaname-uke. 8D I absolutely adore Kaname uke, and am usually so sad because it's SO RARE. ;-; *wishes there were TONS more fics with Kaname as the uke*
I know Zero makes a lovely uke, but he also does make such a wonderful seme, especially for Kaname, so it's a pity that in most people's fics, it's so often Zero uke and Kaname seme. ;-; They can switch wonderfully to make life more fun! XD *hopes the population of fans of Zero seme & Kaname uke will grow* X333<33)



And since I'm posting about that lovely fic, there's another one by the same author, which is also absolutely WONDERFUL. :D

It's a series too, called Solitaire, about semi-AU events (it splits off from the manga around the Rido battle time), centered on Kaname, who falls ill after the battle.
It's mostly Angst, with some Hurt/Comfort, and it's PURE DELIGHT. *-*/ The characterization is a pleasure to read.

It doesn't has yaoi in it (at least none so far? XD), so maybe that's why not as many people have read it yet, but it deserves WAY more readers, so I felt like mentioning it. :D
You really should take a look, it's a delicious read.<3 (And leave a review~? XD<3)

Okay, okay, probably just bending down above Zero, but hey, Hino-sensei didn't show what was going on below, so it's a possibility... *LOL* (At least, in my happy yaoi mind. XD XD)

100% unrelatedly (I must always end up rambling off topic 8D;), I was re-reading the Wikipedia page on vampire bats earlier, and this is so funny and cute:
Each [bat] needs a blood meal at least once every few days. If a bat fails to get adequate food during its foraging, it may contact another vampire bat in its colony to induce a food donation. The food exchange occurs mouth-to-mouth in an activity similar to kissing.

You must know, whenever I read about bats, I inevitably picture it with VK characters instead. It makes for hilarious wtf mind images 90% of the time, but every so often, something like the line above actually makes me fangirl happily. XD;;;;;;;; *rotfl*
(You of course can guess I was imagining Kaname & Zero kissing, not a bat feeding another. X33 *lol*)

I want a pet bat. Although my husband is horrified by the idea. 8D;;;

 

 

My drawing Muses are evil and insist in going hyper whenever they see me sit down to write.

I'm posting this so the Muses will feel some closure and stop clamoring for me to color the pic now. XD;; (I'll color it another time. XD)





I have this painfully cute plot bunny in which the world is a lot more peaceful, Rido is not running around doing as much horrible things (well, not as much XD;), the hunters & vampires are at peace, and little Kaname & Yuuki meet and befriend little Zero.

They often cutely play together in the gardens of the Kuran manor, under the happy gaze of their parents of either side, watching from the nearby windows and being all happy at the successful coexistence of the future leaders of each side. XD
Except the parents have to intervene every so often due to Zero passing out every few hours whenever one or the other of the little purebloods gets hungry, snuggles up close to him and accidentally takes energy. XD XD (they're little kids, so no fangs yet. XD But they're used to cuddling up together and feeling all safe in each other's company, exchanging innocent kisses with each other and all, so accidentally taking from Zero too becomes a habit. 8D;)

Secretly, little Zero wants to become a vampire too, so that he isn't the only one different, but he keeps quiet about it usually ever since he brought up the subject during a visit to the Hunter Association and his parents made very horrified faces at him. XD XD (They may be at peace and accepting the Kurans near their kid for the sake of the peaceful future, but they're not too fond of the idea of little Zero wanting that. XD)

Ichiru isn't jealous or anything, he's too busy with his regular attempts to woo Shizuka, with whom he spends all his vacations. XD She tells him he's a few years too early and should try again later. XD


Hopefully, it's so painfully cute that no one will throw me tomatoes for screwing with the story so badly. 8D It would make an adorable AU. XD XD

Also, it may look that way to perverted eyes, but Zero is NOT touching Yuuki's chest. XDD Give them a few more years though and they'll make an awesome threes- *is shot* XD

Kaname is a bit older than Zero, but he's a small kid so it almost looks like Zero is the oldest of the three. 8D
(It's true about Kaname being small as a child, look in volume 6, he was standing next to Aidou, who was 4 when Kaname was 5, and yet, they were almost the same size! XD Little Kaname is little. *lol* Except that later he got a crazy growth spur way faster than the others. XD)
Nevermind that Zero was also small as a kid. XD *lol* (Remember in the manga Yuuki mentioning him being initially her size despite being an year older? XD XD)
Kaname and him might have been about the same-ish or almost size when very small, before Kaname hit his growth spur and looked like a teenager before his time. XD As we can see in this cover page on volume 3 of VK, the difference wasn't that big before they became older/until Kaname possibly hit puberty first due to being a vampire. XD

As for why they're cuddling up to Kaname, maybe it was Kaname's birthday or something. Or maybe it's because they both feel protective of him because he has bouts of headaches etc. due to the ancestor issues. (I said Rido wasn't doing as many bad things. 8D;; I guess he still did that one.
But it's okay, because instead of having to put up with it alone, little Kaname has Yuuki & Zero to support him, and little Zero is very protective and gentle. X3
He wants to become a great hunter when he grows up, so that he can hunt Kaname's "meanie uncle" down and make him pay for Kaname's headaches. XD XD)



If anyone feels like writing a fic for that AU, I'm totally drawing you a piccie. 8D *lol*

Volume 10 of VK is out~! (Japanese release. Official date June 5th.)

Truth to be said, I bought it two days ago already, but have been meaning to post about it since then and couldn't find time. XD;;; ORZ

I finally have a moment, so I'll be scanning and posting the cover images + the book's extra pages this week-end. ^_^/

There's no new bonuses since I scanlate all the stuff that comes out right as it comes out in the magazines, so you've already read all the new bonus chapters from this volume as they came out in LaLa DX and LaLa Special. (They were the one with little Yuuki and her mom, and the one with Zero & Ichiru with the chairman), but there's a few extra pages that Hino-sensei drew for the book version. ^^/

It's mostly pics that she'd done for the "teasers of the next chapter" type of pics, that end up in between chapters to decorate the empty page in the book, but there were a few new images drawn especially for volume 10.

The most interesting ones being an extra image of post-chapter-46 Zero, with Yuuki's scythe in the forefront as they part (see part of it in the preview), and an added page Hino-sensei did at the end of chapter 47, added to the scene where Yuuki is leaving with Kaname and sees Zero carrying Ichiru.
Kaname leaves her alone for a moment and she says her farewell to Zero before leaving. (Not a lot happens though, it's just Yuuki speaking. <-- I'm warning just in case so that people don't get disappointed of the fact almost nothing happens in the extra page. XD;)

Not much to scanlate as there's so little text, but I'll be doing it & posting the page when I have a moment, probably today or tomorrow. :D

On top of those pages, the older VK mini manga pages Hino-sensei did for the drama CDs are also all included as bonuses on that volume, so I'll be scanning those too. There's also a lovely thingie she did for ON/OFF, with them in their day & night class uniforms, manga style. :D

Usually, I don't like putting watermarks on my photoshopped parodies, because it's not my art (except for the redrawn parts), it's Hino-sensei's art, so it feels wrong.
(This is why there's a load of stuff I photoshopped that you can find in random places with no indication it's made by me, sadly... ^^; But well, it's not the same as when I'm actually drawing something from scratch and it's all my art.)
But in this case, I was afraid that it might look real-ish enough that at first sight people who haven't read much of the series might fall for it and be in for quite a surprise if they read VK hoping to find the love story between those two... XD; *lol*
So I put that line as a warning that it's a parody. XD *lol*

Although, one can dream~~! O-X3 *fake-angelical look in face, is cheering for the threesome ending so much not only because that way both Kaname and Zero would be happy with Yuuki, but also... because then, OH, YAOI DREAMS~! XD *LOL* *is shot* XD XD

When it's my own art, it's only for display by me, unless you ask permission first and I tell you it's okay, but with the parody pics it's part of the official art, and you can take and use them in your profile/layout/whatever, with the condition of course that you never use it to make pirated merchandise, get money, bash characters or anything else ill-intentioned. ^^;/

(Although when you use my parodies, a sort of an acknowledgement line saying it's put together by me would be welcome, as I spent a ton of time on it... ;)
Although not a normal credit line saying it's "drawn" by me since it's not, as it uses official art. ^^;;;/

This one has a watermark, but my other parodies didn't. ^^;)

It takes me even longer to photoshop a pic like that than to draw a whole one from scratch on my own. XD;; (Probably because when I photoshop, whatever I redo has to more or less be redrawn to match Hino-sensei's style, and nothing can clash etc... so I go super slowly and take forever, while in my style I can go faster and be less careful. :)

It doesn't helps that I made this in a large size and re-screentoned most of it so the lighting would match and not look like they're from two different pics. XD;;; In the final versions in jpeg, it's smaller and you can't really see, so it's a pity, but yeah. XD; It adds to it, I think. :D

I meant to post this days ago, then I got swamped and didn't have time until now. XD; ORZ

As you already know, in a recent entry I was asking people to please consider the negative effects that character/pairing bashing can have over fandom. ^^;/

Bashing not only can hurt the feelings of the fans who like the character(s) being bashed, but it also creates an unpleasant vibe that makes people not feel like interacting in fandom as much when there's too much bashing going on. And that's never a good thing. ^^;

I'm mentioning the problem because lately there's more and more bashing going on in the fandom.

Bashing has increased for all characters, but patterns of it seem to change over time. Currently, the majority of the bashing is against Kaname, but I was looking around at more different places more recently, and found out that depending on the moment or the site, Zero also is bashed more often than I'd seen it happen with him before, (although still nowhere as much as how much Kaname is bashed in the English speaking fandom).
Either way, it doesn't matters who is being bashed, all bashing is harmful regardless of what's the target. There's no character that's "okay" to bash. (This should be obvious, but just in case. XD;)

This depends on the country though, because some countries' fandoms are more supportive of one or the other character, depending on cultural differences and other things. For example, I was told that in the Chinese fandom it's the opposite and Zero is the one being bashed more than Kaname.
(I don't speak Chinese myself, but it makes sense that the way fans perceive a character would change based on their culture, and as such favorite characters and disliked characters would be different in different cultures. Still, it doesn't makes bashing okay, as one must respect the feelings of other fans.)
The English-speaking VK fandom is a bit of an international thing with fans from a lot of different countries, so it's sometimes different from local area-specific fandoms in other languages, and it's also much bigger.
So when bashing of a character becomes widespread in the international fandom, as it's becoming more and more the case with Kaname, there's really little fans can do to escape it. D:

We, yaoi fans shipping Zero & Kaname together XD *lol* err, people who are fans of both of them (yaoi or not XD *lol*), have a little luck at least, in knowing that one of our favorites is bashed less, but still, it doesn't changes that bashing is such a turn-off. Ideally neither should be bashed at all. D:
The amount of virulence I've seen thrown against Kaname is particularly scary (at Yuuki too, especially in recent months), even though the ones attacking Zero are also of course unfair, as any bashing is a bad thing. ^^; Bashing is hurtful regardless of who you're bashing, or what reasons you think you have to bash. :X)

The previous entry was getting a bit confusing and based on some of the questions people asked (particularly about what exactly constitutes bashing), I think that it would be best if I make more clear what I'm talking about when I say "bashing", as it seems people sometimes have the mistaken impression that just disliking a character might be considered bashing, when it's of course not the case. ^^/
You can't help liking or disliking a character, that's just your freedom of opinion, that's not bashing. It becomes bashing when it ceases to be an opinion to become the expression of hatred towards that character.
Disliking politely, disagreeing with someone in a civilized and considerate manner is all part of discussing and debating. Hating, however, it different. That's when the dislike crosses the line, ceasing to be an opinion and evolving to the expression of bashing/ flaming/ etc. ^^; Hatred is never positive, nor does it creates a positive environment to discuss in. It of course all depends on the way you express your feelings.

So I'm writing a follow up entry in hopes of making it more clear. ^^/
With little chibies of the three main characters to make the text less boring. XD; *lol*


Btw, this is naturally all just meant as food for thought. ^^/
It's not like I'm trying to tell you what is or is not "right", of course. XD
It's just that bashing saddens me, and I love this fandom so much that I can't just close my eyes and not care. (Especially since seeing the bashing also ruins my enjoyment... -_-;;)
I feel the need to explain why it is a problem, in hopes that by reading it, people might consider the question more than they might have otherwise if they hadn't heard of the fact that it bothers people. ^^;
I just hope that by reading this, people will think of the problem, and will hopefully feel like taking a gentler approach to character discussion, so that the fans of different characters can enjoy the fandom life in harmony and peacefully. :D ♥

Most often, it's character or pairing aimed bashing that happens, so this is what I'm talking about mostly. There's also anti-yaoi bashing, anti-all-sorts-of-things bashing and so on, because unfortunately the human nature often is to attack that which is different from the way they think. :( (That tendency is the mother of many ugly things mankind does...)
But as that still tend to happen less often in our fandom than character bashing, I'll be focusing on the character & pairing aimed type of bashing. ^^/

I'd hope it would be obvious by now that flaming people because they like yaoi is nonsensical as well. (And yet, from time to time I still get hate-mail for drawing yaoi. XD;; Ha... Despite how many warnings and "don't click if you dislike yaoi!" thingies I put in the yaoi themed posts I make. XD;)

(By the way: If you read this far, you've pretty much covered the most important points in this post, the rest is each of these points going into deeper detail and explanations, pretty much. ^^/)

I like the webcomic xkcd and find most of their comics pretty funny, but today's one was hilarious! XD *ROTFL*

I was first told of this rumor by a friend who saw it at another site, and we both found it utterly nonsensical since we read the manga and the rumor thing didn't happen at all...

I thought it would be just one of those "someone had a really weird idea, but that's it", but then I got PMs from people asking me if it was true or not in the manga. And since apparently at least one of them believed the rumor might be true, I figured other people might have the same doubt, or maybe people might have reposted that rumor in different places or something, and so I'm making a post about it to get the rumor out of the way already. ^^/

Rumors can be annoying to people trying to enjoy the canon without getting misinformation, so I find it best to debunk when a weird one pops up. ^^/
Hence this post and other rumor-debunking ones I made before. :D

Guys, Zero is NOT dead. ^^/


Chapter 50 is the most recent chapter of VK. Anyone telling you (or posting in sites/forums/Youtube/etc.) saying they saw some "scene with him dead in a lot of blood and people crying around", is either making it up, or just passing on untrue rumors they read elsewhere.

Zero is alive and doing fine. :D In fact, he's currently doing better than he ever did since Shizuka bit him, things are finally starting to look so much better for him.
(Aside from the heartbreak of course. I mean that physically he's doing better than ever.)

So no, he's not dead, and not dying any time soon. ^_^/

Also, believe me, if such a thing had happened, I'd have made a post about it. :X

Besides, chapter 51 won't be out for quite a while (June 24th), so there's no 'random' raws that haven't been scanlated yet. (I'm assuming it's what people were thinking the supposed image mentioned in the rumor came from? Since that image doesn't exists and from the description it was obviously not in any of the previous chapters. XD:)

My scanlations are as always up to date with the magazine release in Japan, and as such there's no new manga stuff that you haven't seen yet, if you follow my posts.
Hino-sensei also never reveals anything ahead of time, so there's no leaks.

(Not to mention that since we're only halfway through the series, it would make no sense for either Zero or Kaname to die now. ^^; If any of them were to die in a tragic conclusion of the dramatic love story (VK is supposed to be a love tragedy after all), it would be rather by the end and not now...)

So no need to worry~! He's alive and fine. :D


What is particularly weird about the rumor is that people passing the story on asking if it's true are Zero fans. (At least the people who PM'ed were. It was also the case when there was a similar rumor last year.)
It makes sense that they'd be concerned for their favorite character, but since they're his fans, they can also know it didn't happen in the manga or anything... ^^/
So don't fall for lame rumors~! :D There's no need to worry, things are starting to look better for his future than they were for a while. :D

Well, at least I think this rumor is still tiny, so it's faster to debunk than something people actually passed on for a while or something. XD;


And another thing that I was also asked about...: No, chapter 50 is NOT the last chapter of VK nor it is anywhere near the end. XD;

Hino-sensei said in an interview that VK had two main arcs, and we've just entered the beginning of the second main arc, so there's still a while to go. If the second arc is the same size as the first, then it could be another 10 volumes. (She didn't say if they were both of similar size, so we don't know yet if it will be the same, longer or shorter.)
I think almost everybody already knows this, but every so often there's people who maybe didn't read before and who ask if it will end right away or something. ^^;

The first part of the first main arc focused on Zero, then the second part (of the first main arc focused on Yuuki), and lately we've moved to Kaname, as you can see from the fact that he's been showing up more in the recent chapters. It might shift again during this new arc, or switch between the characters or something, depending on the length. Hino-sensei didn't say, naturally. (She never reveals plot details ahead of time.)

So we don't know yet what will happen in the future in VK, but we can know that there's still a while to go, luckily, and also many things to happen + a lot more enjoyment to be had by the fans of all three main characters. :D

By the way, if people could calm down and quit bashing so much, it would rock. ^^;
I've seen some pretty scary reactions to characters in the recent months/chapters. ;-;

It's particularly painful for us yaoi fans XD; people who focus on the guys together more than on a pairing with Yuuki, since we love both Kaname and Zero and always feel sad when we see anyone bashing either of them. Well, at least I feel that way. ;-; *Zero x Kaname OTP*
(I also feel sad when I see people saying Yuuki should die, but I can't help loving the two guys more. XD; *lol* Even though I also love Yuuki, and of course don't like to see her being bashed either. ^^;)


I don't know how come or why exactly, but luckily Zero bashing almost never happens. It's pretty rare. As a Zero fan, I'm delighted by that, but I wish it was the case for all the characters too.
Most often, it's anti-Kaname bashing that happens a lot. Some of the more extreme fans really trash Kaname, hating him pretty badly. :(
(Of course there's Zero bashing too, more or less depending on the site or what's going on in the manga, but it's usually rather rare compared to the Kaname bashing.
Perhaps it comes from the fact that Zero is a more openly readable character in some aspects (except the deeper vampire hunger, which makes it harder to guess what he's thinking), while Kaname is generally really difficult to read, so I think people more often perceive Kaname as darker and "evil", resulting in muuuuch more bashing towards him than towards Zero.)

I know that many people who support Zeki are unhappy at the current chapters, and some of them (only some) end up hating Kaname as a result, but it's no justification to bash. ^^;;
Edit to add: I'm obviously NOT attacking Zeki fans. As I mentioned, only some extreme fans react that way.
(Then there's also the issue of Zero and Kaname disliking each other, which makes that sometimes fans feel they must "do the same", or "avenge their favorite" and whatnot, but the pairing with Yuuki thing tends to get more reactions by far. Which might explain why the bashing is so heavier since the recent chapters. :X)

During the whole time when Yuuki and Zero were all the time together and having all those intimate blood drinking moments etc., no one was doing bashing campaigns against Zero claiming he was "taking Yuuki from Kaname" or whatever such things, so it's not fair to do it to Kaname because she left the school with him. ^^;;
Both love her, whoever gets her in the end is just trying to get the woman they love, so it's odd to think it's wrong for one to do it and right for the other. It's fair for both Zero and Kaname to try to get Yuuki.
(Of course, I personally support them in a threesome, which would make it all so much happier and easier... XD;; Even if such an ending is rather unlikely, unfortunately.)

Both characters must be equally respected, because they both have fans that feel hurt if people bash them. ^^/
Please respect the feelings of the other fans and don't bash any of the characters~! ^^/

I have SO MUCH love for the fans who support Zeki and yet don't bash Kaname because of the way the story is going. ♥
(And vice-versa of course.)

Of course, everybody can have whatever opinion they feel like, and anyone can like or dislike whomever they want, but hate is a different thing that goes beyong dislikes or opinions.
Hate actually hurts the fans of the character being bashed, so it's not the same as just an opinion. And when there's so many people focusing hatred on one character, it can really make the online fandom less enjoyable for the fans of that character. ^^;

EDIT: A little edit to clarify in case I wasn't clear enough, (and also to add something because there's someone posting trolling anon comments that make no sense, to try and start a flame war with people):
I'm obviously not accusing either side nor any group of fans. As it's obvious in my post, I said (over and over...) that the bashing of any character is bad.
It doens't matters what pairing you support, all bashing is bad. I just said one group of fans was less lucky than the other, because one of the characters is bashed more often than the other. This doesn't constitutes in any way any form of attack obviously. And I'm part of both sides anyway, as I love both characters.

As for what exactly bashing is:
Bashing is when people express hatred for a character, especially in an excessive manner. Bashing is not a normal critic of a character, nor a normal opinion saying you dislike that character. Bashing is when it's done in a way that results unfair or hurtful to the character's fans.

"Fighting" each other is not the point of fandom. Anyone who says that bashing and flaming is normal and should be 'fun' is, well, viewing things in a rather strange fashion. ^^; (The anon trolling was claiming that people should bash and flame... And complaining when people responded without "fighting' 9_9)

So when I say that bashing is unfair because it saddens people, I'm of course not saying that someone mentioning the slightest thing about a character is bad, but that people making a tons of posts to say they hate the character, that the character is despicable, that he/she should die etc... over and over... Well, I'm sure you see how this would lessen the enjoyment of that character's fans. That's what I'm talking about when I say bashing.
We're lucky here on LJ, it doesn't happens often. But because it happens in tons of sites and forums, I'm just mentioning the problem, in hopes pople might think of the issue and hopefully decide against bashing if they felt inclined to do so before. (Believe me, you'll have more fun if you focus on the love rather than the hate. Thinking of annoying things is never as enjoyable.)

The fandom would be happier if people focused on what they love, and didn't bash the characters they dislike. :D
Bashing is pointless after all, it accomplishes nothing but saddening people and making them more angry if they already were that way. ^^;

You love KxY? Great, enjoy it. You prefer ZxY? Just as great, enjoy it too. There's immensely fangirlable moments for both pairings in the manga, depending on which volume you look in, so everybody can be happy without fights. :D

And there are so many constructive ways to enjoy the pairing you like without having to bash the "rival" pairing. Fandom is for love and enjoyment, not for bashing. :D


I don't mean to be saying that people should</u> do this or that, of course. ^^;;;
It's just my two cents, I'm just saying what I think would be best since people would enjoy fandom more with love rather than hatred. :D ♥

I'm slowly getting his little expressions done when I have free time, and he'll be posted when he's ready. :D (Not sure yet when that will be exactly.)

This is just one of the expressions, he won't be glaring on all of them of course, but he does pulls out the Bloody Rose and calls you "Baka!" if you bug him too much. ;DDD *lol*
I'm trying to get a mix of "cutely angry" moments and more innocently cute ones. :3

He feigns that he dislikes the excess of attention, but it's just because he doesn't wants to admit it. ;D
He fidgets and tries to hide that he wants you to give him attention, if you ignore him. Then, he has cute bloodlust fits if you leave him alone for too long. XD<3333 *lol*

I HAD to put that pic of Zero in the preview. His pose & smile were just so hot that it caused me three hours of a sleazy grin on my face. XD

Also, this chapter has filled me with such IMMENSE Zero x Kaname moe ever since I put my hands in the magazine, can you imagine how hard it was to resist the temptation to write fanfiction right away instead of spending the entire night scanlating? XD;;;
It was HARD. XD *was so terribly tempted, and the playlist filled with sexy Zero x Kaname yaoi inducing songs didn't help either* 8D;;
As soon as I have time again next, I'm SO SO writing OODLES of fanfiction with the moe from this chapter. 8D;;;

It took longer than usual, probably because I've been sick lately. (Flu with really bad timing to catch so close to the chapter coming out ^^;)
Usually I don't pass out asleep on the table in the middle of it. 8D;;; *lol* *was making a pause while cleaning the scans, suddenly noticed a while had passed and she was almost drooling on her table* XD;;;; Urg. XD;;

(Hence taking pauses, though my energy still held better than expected. XD *is a brute that is not as affected by flu etc, probably due to pureblood healing. 8D; *lol*)

Also, 50 is 33% longer than the usual chapters, which must also have made it take longer. XD;; <-- *stupidly spent most of the night wondering why it was taking so much longer, then suddenly realizes the number of pages is in direct correlation to that* 8D;;;;;;;

I find it's a pretty good metaphor of the manga, that Yuuki is holding Kaname in her arms, but still leaning against Zero/resting supported against him. And it's lovely that the two wolves/vampires are near each other so peacefully, for her. ♥ PLEASE BECOME A THREESO-*is shot again*

Ignore the fact that the pic is rushed, please? XD;; I was just doodling with a thick/messy pencil, and then ended up rushing the coloring as speed CG training... ^^;

It's one of the BEST Zero x Kaname and Kaname x Zero fics there is out there, by the way. You must read it, or you're really missing out on something wonderful! :D

In one of the chapters of the fic, Kaname wears a blindfold for Zero, and it's lovely~! X3 Well, Nineorchids told me she wrote the scene with my art style in mind for them, so I just couldn't resist and ended up drawing it too. ;D (Except that I meant to do the scene with him on the bed, and my depraved Muses instead made me draw it pornier. 8D;; But well, I'm sure no one will mind. ;D *lol*)

And while I'm mentioning VK fanfiction and lovely Kaname-uke-ness, AH how I wish there was so much more Kaname-uke in the world. XD;
Zero makes such a wonderful seme too, so it's a pity that 99% of the time almost everybody is putting Zero as uke... which would be fine if there was a balance between the two, but as it's really almost always super-seme Kaname x super-uke Zero and rarely ever any Kaname-uke at all, it gets tiresome... especially since meanwhile I die of Kaname-uke deprivation. 8D;; *lol*

So finding lovely well-written fics that have Kaname uke (in character too~! X3 ♥ ♥ ♥) like the one mentioned above make me really happy. :D

(I'm not complaining about any fics in particular, much less the fics of the awesome authors writing Zero & Kaname both ways or writing Kaname-uke already, of course. ^^/ I mean in general, the aount of Zero-uke fics is huge compared to the amount of Kaname-uke ones, because some people started writing Zero uke back when there were less VK fics, and then a lot of people followed and everybody started doing it like that. ^^;
Sometimes it's so extreme that it's beyond OOCness, making you wonder whether it's the same characters. XD;
(For example: We know that canon Kaname is strong outside, but has a really vulnerable side inside, and is extremely dedicated and caring towards the person he loves, so it's always odd to see fics in which he claims to love Zero and then proceeds to rape him. XD;; (Well, I'm totally not saying fanfic rape is a bad thing, FAR from that as I like it too, but it has to be written to fit in the situation. XD; *lol* If it's just kink and roughness it would be fine/interesting on either part, seeing how they're vampires and all, but if it's openly non-con it's best if it's explained to fit in.. Non-con has a HUGE potential in yaoi fanfiction and can be really interesting, but that would be when it's well done and the characters still are themselves somewhat. ^^;))

Luckily at least the amount of Kaname-uke fics has gotten less bad over time. When I joined the fandom, there was almost NO Kaname uke fic out there, at all. ;-;
Now, you can find it every so often, but it's still terribly rare compared to Zero-uke. ^^; So I hope that on the long run, more people will write Kaname-uke, or the two switching around and so on. X3 ♥

Aside from that, lately the fic production for VK is a bit tired, it seems...? ^^;;; I was counting out of curiosity the other day, and my heart broke when I took the first ten fics on the first page for VK on FFnet, and realized that 8 of them were Mary Sue fics, not actual VK fics. D:
(Mary Sue... doesn't really counts as VK fic. 8D;;; Sort of... It's not quite a crossover, but it's something different. ^^; To put simply, we all want to read about the VK characters we love, not about some Sue that pops up at the academy to win everybody's hearts... ^^;; I'm sure you know the feeling.)

Maybe because the anime ended some months ago already, less people are writing as often? D: *clings hopes it's not the case*
I can't say much, I'm guilty of not producing as much fic lately too. ^^;; But I hope to post more if I can find bits of time to write more. :3 *currently tweaking CoB 17, hoping to release it this week-end or next week, depending on the Muses and time*)



Ah, before I forget: 100% unrelatedly, but I get a lot of LJ PMs... I try to reply somewhat regularly, though it's sometimes fail. ^^;; Sorry if I forgot anyone. ^^;;

One important thing though: If you send me an LJ PM with a question or something, PLEASE make sure you don't have the default thing set up to prevent people from PMing you if they're not in your FL. ^^;
I get that a lot, when I write up a reply to someone, and then it won't go through and be sent because of the automatic block not having been taken off. ^^;; And then, I get stuck with messages that can't be sent and time that was lost. ^^;

(So perhaps, it's just easier to ask me questions in comments instead, also. XD;; *tries to catch up with replies sometime*)

Unrelatedly, although also on the subject of VK goodies: You might want to be REALLY wary of the VK goodies on Amazon. Seriously, it's scary, I can't find a single official thing there. (I'd have to look more, but so far all I saw for sale there was bootlegs.)

Naturally, Amazon itself is a reputable place and wouldn't sell bootlegs, but the pirated VK goodies are being sold from Amazon Marketplace sellers, so it gets tricky as people think it's legit and get screwed over. D:

If you know it's pirated, at least, if you still want to buy it because you can't find the real deal, it's better than getting scammed not knowing. ^^; (Although of course, it's best if you actually support the series by buying the legit stuff. ^^/)
The really sad thing is when they get people unaware.

For plushies there isn't really a way out of it, since there exists no official VK plushies, so I ended up buying pirated Zero plushies. *shot*

If it's something that exists as an official goodie, then it's always best to get the real deal: first, for the sake of actually supporting VK and Hino-sensei, (as opposed to supporting some pirate company), and secondly, just plain for yourself, and for the value of your money. Bootlegs are made crappily and the shoddy quality really shows, especially since they don't last that long. The real ones on the other hand, are really beautiful and will last long long time. :)

I've been meaning to make a post about the bootleg goodies issue for a while, but haven't had time. ^^;
I still don't have time, but I figured that since I'm writing about it I might as well. XD *lol*

I'm REALLY looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, in part because I worked on it, but by far for the greater part as a fan. X3 (Which is the reason why I went to work on it in the first place. X3)

However, I was viewing it with mostly innocent eyes, until this clip:


Young!Kirk is SO HOT running around in the snow that now, inevitably I am also looking forward to it even more because it has reawakened the Spock x Kirk fan in me. 8D;;

It's a rather angsty chapter, but, well, there must be "hurt" in "hurt/comfort". XD;;

Also, the whole fic is M due to being extremely dark and full of mentions of sexual stuff, so don't click if you're underage or dislike yaoi etc. ^^;

It's a quick doodle I did the other day because I had the sudden idea for the pic. :D
Not much detail in the outline or coloring, but I just wanted to put the idea down in image format.
(Now I think I should have added some purple to those bloody bruises on his cheek, but eh, I guess they're still fresh.
The lip is split from a punch or something. Similarly, his left eye is bloody from getting hit too much, but with vampire healing that should get better quickly enough.)

I drew it with the "one year later" from the manga in mind. He's supposed to be weary from hunting all that year, and starting to feel seriously fed up of it all/realizing the pointlessness of it. (A feeling I wanted to show in his exhausted look as well as the rain pouring down on him and his battered appearance from fighting and all... one would guess he took quite a beating even if he came out winning against whoever he was fighting.)

He's supposed to be saying "Yuuki... Kaname... stop running. I'm tired of this..."
(With the idea they'd all make peace, rather than something drastic happening. 8D;;;)

It's my wishful thinking, as I'd much rather them get in a threesome XD along than him go on with the bloody stuff and destroy himself or them have to fight him. :X

It's the first zucchini growing in my little veggie-garden-in-pots. XD;;;
I have a small round pot with a zucchini plant and a cucumber one (the zucchini is growing like whoa and taking all the space, but the cucumber survives on XD;), and today I noticed that the flower from a few days ago had become a zucchini.<333
Oh glorious day. *-* *rejoices in future tasty foodies* XD *lol*

It's SO CUTE. XD;; Plus even the flower was lovely.<3
(Sure, I could just buy zucchini from the market, but it's nowhere as fun or tasty. XD)

The cucumber too, has a tiny flower with what looks like a future baby-cucumber already growing there! *gurgles in delight at adorable planties actually producing* X333


Sadly, the zucchini and the cucumber aren't named after any VK characters. D:

I meant to post the chapter during the week-end, btw, but it ended up not being ready on time, so instead I shall be posting it hopefully in the upcoming days or something, or perhaps this next week-end. :D
We'll see, it will depend on when I can find moments to write, and how fired up my Muse is when I do find those moments. 8D;
